To gain access to private forums, you first need to apply for access. the best method of doing that is to click on "usergroups" (in the group of icons at the top of your page). at that point you will be prompted to apply for a forum if you are not a part of it. once you do apply, you are placed in a list of people who are pending approval from site admin.

PLEASE do not PM any of us individually asking for access, apply under usergroups. IF you have any other concern, then of course PM any of us, just not access related.

Gaining Access to the Backroom

In the interest of providing a SAFE space for girlmoms and protecting our right to privacy and safe discussion, the mods have collectively worked towards new guidelines for access to the backroom. We have come up with these guidlines with the intent to protect the Backroom as a place for moms to share freely about private, personal matters that they do not feel safe sharing publically on the internet. We will continue to work to maintain this space, and assure the community members that we will do everything in our power to keep your words safe. We apologize if people are not happy with the guidelines, or can not gain access, But we feel that if this is the case, then you dont really understand the need for a space to discuss such personal issue and having a place to heal and grow, and therefore do not need access to the backroom. Everyone is still free to post as much and as often as possible on the general boards.

To gain access one must have:
-200-250 posts
and
-6 months of posting

They must also:
- regularly contribute to the community and post with more depth than simply their favorite colors or to post baby pictures, etc.
- be civil with all other members
- show a commitment and dedication to the basic principles of the Mission Statement
- be re-verified as trustworthy by one or more existing backroom members
- agree to keep all information posted in the backroom very confidential. If its posted in the backroom, it stays in the backroom, and doesnt go anywhere.
- actively post in the backroom. No lurkers.
- agree to immediately report any privacy leaks to one or more moderators, to help maintain our safe space.

If a user is inactive for a month or more they will be removed from the backroom access list, until they ask to be re-added. Mothers in stressful situations or situations that otherwise prevent internet time (extreme school work/schedule, new baby, babydaddy problems, illness, death of loved one, etc.) can stay.

Swap & Give is a private area for members to trade, give away, or sell items they no longer need and search for items they want.

If you would like access, apply under "Usergroups."
You should have 50-75 posts, have been here atleast 2 months, but also, we will be using what I like to call "Modly Discretion." We will not add you if we don't feel that you will be true to your word, so you may have to wait a while longer before we admit you.
