oh wow amanda im so sorry! they have some pretty cool advancements now and days to help with everything. im sorry everything seems to keep raining down on you. call me if you need to talk. im going to be in and out today. we think kiara has rsv and i have to take her to the dr but ill be home the rest of the week for the most part.

He is 33, is married and has 3 beautiful, healthy daughters.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this!
I don't have CP, my disease falls under muscular dystrophy but I just got orthotics - KAFOs (which will be HKAFOs after I deliver) and I'm guessing he'd have something similar. I had a really hard time shopping for shoes. I was told that orthotics without the hinge at the angle makes shoe-fitting easier. and the insoles had to come out.

if you have a hard time with shoes, let me know. my friends told me several kids shoe brands that work well. :]

did he at least get to pick a cool color/pattern? if he hasn't, the clinic will probably let him when he gets casted. they have some nifty designs out there! :]

United Cerebral Palsy is a great org that has a lot of resources to CP families as well as other disabilities... you might check into them - http://www.ucp.org

I think they have funding for equipment and such too if you can't get insurance coverage.

He got casted last week for AFO's.. they wont have hinges. And no, they didnt let him pick out a design or anything, but at 15 mo I think he's a bit young to care.
