Hiya everyone,

My name is Mars, I have a 4 and a half year old who was born when I was 19. I read a lot of stuff on this website when I was pregnant like 5 years ago, but I didn't really get involved. But I am kind of aching for a forum to share resources and ideas. I think of myself as being a radical parent, and I try to do some organizing for families locally, building community and support, etc. I am a single mom. I also play in a folk punk band that tours often, and have brought my babe with me on many tours. Ive had a chance to meet lots of cool moms at my shows. A lot of them don't realize at first that I have a kid when they come see us play, but I get really stoked to talk to other young/punk/radical moms and its really fun to connect like that. Ive even had the chance to meet a really awesome totally rad young single dad (not that its more awesome to meet dads, just more rare). Its cool to connect primarily through music and then realize you have something else in common. Anyhow I don't plan on being on here a lot because I am super busy, but I'll probably come around sometimes especially to bounce ideas off of people. Anyhow, thats a little about me, maybe I'll see some of you around.
