Cloth menstrual padsSo I've been thinking about what to do post-baby for menstrual products. I have some mama pads but not that many, definitely not enough for the postpartum period. I like them. I'd like to buy more, but OMG are they expensive, even the cheap ones! I know they're worth it in the long run, but I just hate to put out the money if there are alternatives. I have a friend who used premium prefolds (cloth diapers, in case you're not familiar with them) as postpartum pads just folded over her underwear, and I do have a bunch of those, but holy freaking crap would those be bulky! I don't even think I'd be able to get pants on over those things. LMAO! I read in Cunt about pinning washcloths to your underwear, which would be less bulky, but the idea of having safety pins in my underwear scares the hell out of me. And I've also heard of just folding washcloths on, but that would suck pretty badly if they slipped, eh? Maybe I should just suck it up and buy some more. Maybe there are super cheap ones out there that I don't know about? What do you guys do?

I have only a few (6?) cloth pads. When ds2 was born I used prefold cloth diapers for the first few days when you don't do much moving around, and after that I used my reg. cloth pads and washed them every day with my newborn cloth diapes (I only had 12 of those).

I ended up ordering a few from a seller on etsy that made the cheapest ones I could find. I think I got 6 for $23. I guess I'll see how I like them when they get here.

I made some myself out of those flat diapers that don't really work for cloth diapering. I just cut the middle part out and folded it in half.

I wasn't going to post the seller until I had a review, so just keep in mind both the seller and the pads may or may not be any good. LOL. But her name is GoneCreative. I got the 12-inch long ones, and I noticed they only have 3 layers of flannel and one of zorb, and one of pul for waterproofing, so I honestly have no idea how well they will do postpartum, I'm thinking they might need to be doubled up, but I figure maybe during the day I can put a washcloth or something on top for an extra layer and the pad will prevent leaks. Hopefully? LOL! We'll see!

zorb is pretty good for diapers or pads, it's really absorbant. I don't like chemicals though =\ It's like microfiber, though, very absorbant, so they may work.
For pads I use Go With the Flo pads, and I also got a couple of http://hyenacart.com/belliesbabiesnmore/index.php?c=103 her pads which are great.
