Old/new Girlmom AllyHi everyone. My name's Nic and I was pretty regular on here for a while but when the board went down, I didn't know where any of you guys had gone so i couldn't post any more. Anyway, I'm really glad Girlmom is back up because as far as I can tell it's the only site on the internet that actually supports teens who choose to become parents (as well as those who chose adoption or abortion) and doesn't villainize teen mothers. A little about me; I'm 26 years old and I have a 9 year old daughter. We're from Scotland and we currently live with my partner, Gary, and our cat, Axl. My daughter doesn't really have any contact with her bio-dad (all his doing - he lives a 30 minute walk away but hasn't seen her for 2 years now) but she gets on well with my partner which is awesome. I'm at college just now getting my Higher qualifications (which I think is pretty much equivalent to a high school diploma) and I hope to go on to University and study sociology. Eventually I want to become an RMPS teacher (Religious, Moral & Philosophical Education) in a high school. My daughter is very bright but she has some behavioural problems that we're trying to get looked into (without much luck right now, but that's a rant for another time). Most of the time she's awesome to be around. She's funny and clever and she has interesting opinions about stuff but she hates school and has a hard time making friends. She's just moved to a new school as I had to move house and she was having a really hard time the first week or two but I think she's starting to feel more comfortable. I'm glad to see new faces here as well as some of the old ones I remember. Girlmom rocks.

Kuntish! I was wondering where you had gone. I'm really glad to see you back on the boards. Welcome, welcome. They're not as active as they were before they crashed (maybe in part b/c not everyone has found their way back yet?), but we've got an awesome new modsquad working on that. Anyway, I'm so glad to see you posting and I hope to see you around much more.

Welcome back! I'm a Canadian 22-year-old mama to a 3-year-old and expecting my 2nd in April. I'm a sociology student, I think you'll love it!
