Graduation StuffHey, So I am graduating this semester (yay!) and everyone keeps asking me what I'm doing for the party. I actually hadn't planned anything! So now I am trying to figure out what I'm going to do and I was thinking I'd have a dinner somewhere and of course now lots of places are booked up! So my question is- if you invite a bunch of people out for dinner, who is supposed to pay? I'm not sure if there are some etiquette rules about it and I don't have parents who are going to pay so I have to do it. I was thinking I'd pay to reserve the room/area and then let everyone buy their own meals. Anyone know what you're supposed to do? Do you know of any polite phrases to say you pay for your own meal? I'd like to put something in the invite. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trish

I always have people meet me
I always have people meet me somewhere informal, like the Central Market, it has like picnic area and people seem to know to get their own food. Or, you could have a potluck party.
What i usually do is go to
What i usually do is go to our fav pizza place and i order the pizza/drink combo. Its like 4 lrg pizzas and like 10 pitchers and then as Im done I yell out first rounds on me, who wants to go next? weve pretty much got it done by now tho. It doesn't cost very much either, like35 bucks? And their pizza is amazing! All of my friends are pretty laid back and chill tho so they don't care too much. Maybe pick a place thats not too expensiv but has great food and let everyone know that the first round of pizza or so much money you will be pitching in and everyonehas to split the rest, so they are prepare. Have fun! Graduating is a time to celebrate, make a fun night out f it! Congrats!
I definitely wouldn't expect
I definitely wouldn't expect to pay for everybody if you invite folks out to dinner for your graduation. If anything, I bet your friends will offer to pay for you. Congrats and have fun!
great ideas! Thanks! Trish
