CarriersI know my baby is only 3 months but for those of you who do/did babywear, what was your favorite carrier for older kids? Like past a year old. I have two right now and I love them, but they are only supposed to hold up to 25 lbs.

I loved the mei tei for the 'over a year' age group.... mine is good up to 35lbs, and she hasn't made it there yet... at three and a half.
A carrier that goes up to
A carrier that goes up to 25lbs may work for your kid for a long time. T is two and is still only 24 lbs - and she was 9 lbs at birth. I used a mei tai when T was a year, and continued to use the mei tai religiously until the last several months. It's relatively easy to do back carries with a mei tai. Now that she's almost two, I use a wrap more - I just find it easier to adjust her lower on my back.
I have a mei tei. I haven't
I have a mei tei. I haven't used it that much yet, but does it get easier to tie it? Lol. I feel like it takes me forever!
The other carrier, I just put it on, slip her in, and we're good. I hope it lasts a long time.
becco butterfly, meitai or
becco butterfly, meitai or ring sling for quick trips.

I am liking the "ring slings". There are various sites on line that will make them, and ship them to you. The ring sling's go up to 35-40 lbs i beleive. My son is three and a half, and big for his age...and is only 38 lbs... The ring slings get a lot of use, so it makes the price (50-60$) well worth it. I beleive I also saw some at Babies-r-us. Acutally, they arent hard to make...My cousin made hers, and is getting a lot of use out of it (Just make sure you get STRONG ring.)...
I just have a front carrier,
I just have a front carrier, but Kiara is already getting too big for it. I like the look of the ring sling but with my arthritis i cant handle it. I would love to have a wrap but I'm not sure how to do it exactly and we can't afford it, not even the fabric to make one. thats something i wanted to do sooooo badly with her too. I'm bummed I wanted to baby wear her more than anythig but I dont really have a choice our finanicial situaion is bad right now. My front carrier is good for trips to the grocery store adn stuff, but i thnk its only for up to 20 lbs. and as for a carrier that can hold up to 40 lbs, thats amazing! My 5 1/2 year old is only 38 lbs!!!
Tessa, there is a program
Tessa, there is a program called No Mother Left Behind that donates slings to low income mamas. I don't know if it would work for you with your arthritis, but you might want to check it out if wearing her is that important to you.
