Coming off of Hormonal BC

Husband and I decided a few months back, that we wanted to have another child. (It was the end of June). I stopped taking the BC I was on (I was using the Nuva Ring). Now, I think my hormones are going crazy. My skin has broken out like CRAZY. And my period comes like....once every two months. Ugg..and I get spotting in between...Its just awful... It also makes it very difficult to TTC, as my body is all out of whack. I also have annoying period like cramps, ALL THE FRIGGEN TIME.

Is this normal? Has anyone experience coming off of hormonal BC? Honestly, I can't see myself ever going back on, because this transition has been horrible. I have never had problems like this before!!

When I stopped taking the

When I stopped taking the pill last summer, my cycles weren't regular but that's the only problem I had with it. The cycle thing was annoying though, I would either have 2 week long cycles or 2 months long, and it never regulated itself. It took almost a year before I was pregnant and I didn't even suspect it was pregnancy, it was so common for my period to take that long to arrive.

hi i was on the patch for over a year and i decided that i didnt want to be on it anymore and i just took myself off of it in hopes that i might be able to get pregnant again but ever since my sex drive has vanished into thin air... i know what you're going through hun cuz i'm experiencing those same symptoms very irregular periods very bad crampin that almost feels like contractions i mean the works hun i'm having it all BUT there is an upside to all this too now whenever i ovulate i'm able to tell when it happens whereas before i wasnt able to tell at all when i ovulated lol but just know that this is normal and it will regulate itself and if you want to get pregnant sooner then i suggest trying to figure out when you ovulate by either taking one of those home tests that predict when you will or i can tell you the signs and symptoms that i get whenever i know i'm ovulating myself just whatever you want to do hun lemme know and i'll be here to try and help you out any way i can brandi proud mama as of june 2nd 2007

Awe hun, Im sorry that

Awe hun, Im sorry that sounds miserable.. and while i dont have any similar experiences myself with hormonal BC (I was on the pill 6+ years ago for 6 weeks and developed blood clots oin my lungs.. so I have never been on it since, and never will be again obviously). But I wanted to off you some support on the TTC frustration.. it took 9 months of trying for us to conceive this time around, my cycles were erratic as well, but in my case im pretty sure it was a result of nursing my daughter. Good luck hun, and I hope you get your positive preganancy test in the not too distant future.

Hey ladies, Thank for the

Hey ladies, Thank for the support. Urg. I went to the doctor today. He gave my something for my skin (which apparently I am going to have to stop using when pregnant.) He also pretty much confirmed the whole birth control thing. I really have my doubts about hormonal bc....Ive never ever had good luck with them!! Lets see how the TTC goes...its not very seriously at this time, but if it happends, we will be happy!
