why??!?!?!?! *privelege trigger*

I washed my phone. I'm soooooo upset. Do you think it will dry out? It's one of those deals where I got it free with the contract, but it would cost $300 to get another one. Why did I do it? I thought I checked my pockets! Crying

why??!?!?!?! *privelege trigger*

You can try putting it in the oven on the lowest setting overnight....

i'm sorry. that's so frustrating. i've never had a cell phone, so i really can't offer any advice.

why??!?!?!?! *privelege trigger*

well, I took the back cover off, and took the battery out, but I can still see water in the camera lens...I just wish I hadn't done it.

why??!?!?!?! *privelege trigger*

we washed a cell phone once too, and it was ruined- we could also see the water swishing in it. i'm sorry. also, one time i had a different cell phone in my purse and a water bottle as well- the cold bottle sweated onto the phone and fried the electronics in it and a few buttons never worked again. they're really tempermental Crying see if your company will work with you. if you are within 10 days of signing the contract, you may be able to cancel it. this way, you could maybe sign up woth someone else and get a free phone that way. also, i know cell one has a drop box for old phones- perhaps you could find one to recycle it.

Mine was submerged in water overnight, by a little girl. The big thing is to take the battery off, and NOT turn it on. I put both pieces in the oven with JUST THE LIGHT ON, and it was fine.

why??!?!?!?! *privelege trigger*

I dropped my two year old phone in the toilet a couple years ago almost. I let it dry out and it still wouldn't come back to life. I heard putting a cell in a bag of dry rice overnight helps ...

why??!?!?!?! *privelege trigger*

When mine went through the laundry it was dead for good. That sucks mama.

why??!?!?!?! *privelege trigger*

I dropped mine in a toilet awhile back too. I took it completly apart as much as I could get it and let it sit over night and it was fine. A friend of mine also dropped his in a lake and fished it out before it went to the bottom, he did the same thing and it was okay.

You dont have the phone insurance? (i pay like $5 a month i think) but still even then you would have a like $75 deductible. That sucks. Is it still messed up?

why??!?!?!?! *privelege trigger*

def see if u have insurance first, if not then if your on a plan with somebody else see if the are up for a renewal and she if the will just switch the phone numbers. if that doesnt work just take apart the phone, backin battery and let it dry for about 3 days a week to be on the safe side and see if that helps.

why??!?!?!?! *privelege trigger*

I don't have the insurance, they told me I could think about it for two weeks and come back, but I never did it. I took it apart as much as I could and put it up high in my closet (my oven doesn't have a light, I checked that first). I went to the T-mobile website, a replacement would cost $160 if I got it direct from them. Crying Does it work to buy used phones off of ebay?

why??!?!?!?! *privelege trigger*

don't try to turn it on, just take it apart, take out all the little rubbery stopper bits, if there are any, and this is going to sound a little weird and gross, but suck out as much water as you can from any openings on the phone, cracks, where it plugs in, and just leave it to dry for an overnight. If you have a dehumidifier, place it right in front of it.

I let Shane play with my phone too much that it got so soaked it didn't work anymore so there probably isn't much hope for a phone that was washed... but about ebay, yes you can. I actually bought a phone off ebay. And it worked just fine. The only thing you have to make sure that its a phone is/has the same carrier you do, so they are compatible. There is a way, I think, to change them over but I didn't want to deal with it. I got the phone online and just called my phone company and had them activate it. I hope everything goes well.

Pisces, you rock. i didn;t eventhink about that option. My verizon phone sat in a hotel toilet for about two hours and never recovered. Bastards want me to pay 100$ for a new phone. One thing I am going to try is to change my address to an area where they have no coverage, then they have to let me out of the contract. Then ican start over.

We're the masters of cell phone murdering, lol. I washed BD's phone once, and my son has thrown 2 different phones of mine in the toilet.. none of them ever recovered. I also dont have insurance, so I always ask everyone I know who has the same carrier if they have an old cell phone they dont want/need. Ive switched over phones countless times now without an issue. Do you know anyone with the same carrier that has an extra old phone? Otherwise Ebay is a good idea.. the samn things are rediculously expensive Sad

why??!?!?!?! *privelege trigger*

my current phone i have i bought from ebay. paid 40$ im done with it in 2 weeks if you want it? I have tmobile. Im going with Sprint.

why??!?!?!?! *privelege trigger*

that would be sweet if mine won't come back on....I'm letting it get some air and keeping my fingers crossed...

I'm sorry about your cell, that sucks. My laptop, the very one I'm typing on, was rained on! Seriously, I was out; it rained and I had a leak in my ceiling. The leak was right above my desk, directly on top of my computer. I got home and it was drenched!! I was sooo upset. I didn't know what to do. The warranty was over so I'd have to pay out of pocket. My dad helped me take it apart as much as we could, then we used a blow dryer on the cool setting to dry it. For days after I thought it would have dried... would not come on. I was still so upset about the whole thing. Then, the next week, I tried it again... and it TURNED ON! Good as new!! I was sooo relieved! Granted, it was back to factory settings, but still... Laughing out loud I say all this to say... there is still hope. Try a blowdryer Wink !

why??!?!?!?! *privelege trigger*

like above said. most give up on it too soon . i had washed a cell phone a while back. It would not turn on for 2 weeks. Then one day i randomly tried it and tada . fixed. lost my contacts but everything else was good.

you can find phones cheap on ebay just make sure it is compatible with your carrier.
