Fucking GRRR

So, it is the policy of the Boys and Girls club that even if I send my child extra clothes to change into, she has to go home immediately if she has an accident. Well, she had figured this out, and wants to go home.

Regardless of the fact that my child has special needs (unresolved bladder issues since age 3 or younger), they will not let her stay, even if she changes! I rely on them for child care and I don't know what to do, because I have had to leave work early EVERY DAY this week!

I am sooooo frustrated!

And, I'm getting really pissed at my kid over this, because to some extent she is doing it on purpose because she has figured out if she has an "accident" she gets to go home. GRRRRR I'm pissed. But I don't feel right being hard on her about it, even though I'm really mad.

Fucking GRRR

That is so frustrating. Maybe you could get a doctor's note? My kid gets sent home a lot for "diarrhea" when really he has just never had formed stools.

Fucking GRRR

that seems like an odd policy to me. i actually had the opposite problem with my daughter's school because they apparently dont even notify you if the child has an accident. they have extra clothes in various sizes in the nurse's office. my issue was that every time she has had an accident since age 3 she has had a UTI. they didnt bother to tell me so by the time she got home i couldnt get her into the doctor. have you explained your situation to someone else in the organization? would they make an exception if you could get a dr's note? if not, what is their reason for not allowing her to stay if she changes?

Fucking GRRR

If she changes herself i dont see the problem. Like Charlie said, try the doctors note thing if you havent yet.

Fucking GRRR

That policy doesn't make a lot of sense, and is discriminatory. (Although they'll say it's a sanitary issue...but it really isn't because the accident already happened and she's in clean clothes) I'm sorry that she's manipulating the situation so she doesn't have to stay there. That's what kids do, but it doesn't make it any easier. Have you asked them if a doctor's note will help any?

Fucking GRRR

I'm going to talk to them about her situation and ask about a drs note. Thanks for the suggestions.

just an idea, my kids daycare was recently taken over by the YMCA, but was owned by boys n girls club. we NEVER had a policy like that, so i would personally look more into it and appeal it. keep going higher up because that is not right. what about kids who are potty training? what if they have an accident, they get sent home?? thats obsurd!

Fucking GRRR

They haven't called me since I told the girl on the phone last time that I had to work, my daughter had extra clothes, and I would pick her up when I got off work. If I have any more issues I will go higher up and claim discrimination.
