I promise he will outgrow it! he won't be 12 and still needing a boob to fall alseep at night!! Navy is almost 13 months and is still like that. She just recently ( as in the last week or 2 ) will go to sleep with her binkie. But up until then she had been waking up a few times a night to nurse and needing it to fall asleep. I know it's hard, but he will outgrow it. And then you will miss these days, so enjoy them while they last!!! :D

cant sleep

me and j are in the same vote. He breastfeeds to fall asleep for every nap and night-time bedtime because that is what hes alwyas known and thats how we have always done it. Unless you give him another option, or help him find another way to fall asleep, and even then he will more than likely put up a big fight, at his age he will want to continue to nurse to sleep because it works and its comfortable for him. atleast this is my experience. I am currently and just recently really buckling down on getting j to fall asleep without nursing, and so far in two weeks its only been accomplished once but its a start. I think most kids will eventaully self-wean from night feeding and outgrow the night wakings but it takes a while and some wont until they are way way older unless they are given that extra "push". I am pretty sure you co-sleep? When joshua was around a year it started working for us that whne he would wake at night i could start just quieting him back down to sleep through reassurance that i was there and, a little cuddle rather than just pulling out my boob the second he made a peep. I hope that helps, i dont really have much other advice.
