Ok, I'm really confused. For the first two months or so I pumped very regularly and would get 4-8 ozs combined from pumping. Now, when i pump, even if I do so when I feel really full, I only get 1-2 oz combined. What is going on?? and why wont it come out? I've tried hand expression so I know there is milk in there, but my hands get so sore after a couple of minutes that that method isnt working so well either. I'm trying to store up enough breastmilk for Avalon for Friday because I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed and she's going to be away from me for 6-8 hours.. Any suggestions??

when that happened to me i just switched to hand expression.
have u tried pumping one and letting ur kiddo nurse on the other at the same time???
when im nursing malachi my other breast will just squirt milk like im a mommy milk making machine!...sorry if its tmi lol.
are there any other pumps you can use? It might be just the brand of pump, or if you're using manual switch to electric and see if you get anywhere, or see if you can rent a medical grade pump for a few weeks to get what you need out. I ended up going the too-lazy-to-look-around route too, and when my pump went bust up on me, I just hand expressed all the time. But if you're needing a big supply (I wasn't really) it might be worth it to try a different brand or try to rent a really good one.
Well I already am using a Medela double electric (which is the same as the pump in style.. the bag just isnt as pretty.) And my insurance wont cover a hospital grade anymore since dd is out of the NICU :(
And how do I make hand expression work w/o my hands hurting so bad?? I've looked it up and stuff but it just hurts my hands SO bad :?
you just build up the hand muscles, i guess.
